Automatic and Manual Driving Lessons
We provide manual and automatic driving lessons across the North East. Our lessons give you the option to prepare to qualify with either a manual or automatic driving licence. With an automatic licence, you can drive automatic cars, but not manual ones because in an automatic car, there are still gears but the car does the work and changes between them for you. With a manual licence you can drive both manual and automatic cars.
There’s plenty of benefits associated with choosing manual lessons such as having more control and better fuel efficiency. Manual transmission cars tend to be cheaper than the automatic version of the same make, and because mechanics are less complicated, they are usually more reliable. Manual cars can also perform better when roads are slippery or dangerous.
However, there are a number of positives associated with taking automatic lessons. It’s quicker and easier, there’s no risk of stalling, automatic cars are better on hills and they are also easier to handle in heavy traffic. Crucially, they are also growing in popularity, particularly with the onset of the electric car, so once you’ve passed your test you can be pretty certain that your favourite new car model will have an automatic option.
Our manual beginner course costs £60 for 4 hours and you can book a 2-hour single lesson session for £54. There’s also a range of block booking options for you to choose from. Similarly, we have got a range of choices if you’d like to book up with one of our expert driving instructors for your automatic lessons. Our 4 hours beginners’ course is also £60. You can also book a single 2-hour lesson for £56 and we’ve also block booking options which range from 10 hours up to 40 hours.
